What Looks Like Bread and Wine, but Has Transformed Into the Substance of Christ
Why do we have the eucharist through sies? Thomas gives us three reasons. First off, so that we are not committing a form of cannibalism. We are not eating flesh as flesh is normally seen when you are having a chicken sandwich. This aids christian's ability to receive christ in holy communion. Saint thomas says we have these eucharistic sins because it protects us from embarrassment against non believers who could accuse us of being cannibals.
