The Importance of Practice
Jesus is a rabbi. That's a Hebrew word meaning Bible teacher. He wants his apprentices to take the time to wrestle with it, whether we're bookish or not. For Jesus, the Bible wasn't just meant to be read and believed, but to be lived. At a math level, one fifth of the sermon on the Mount is about doing what it actually says.
