There is lots of evidence that we kind of have this set point heritably. But the research also suggests that you can a lot of action to move that around. People that are genetically wired for happiness just tend to do that stuff more. They're things like increasing our social connection and taking time for gratitude, becoming more present. And if you're not a kind of natural happy set point person, you can copy the behaviours of happy people,. The ones that really work, and then kind of move your set point around.
