How Does a Machine Translation Work With Earth Languages?
A single character can correspond to one sound in chinese and a different sound in japanese, but it can still represent the same concept. About 70 % of the words in written chinese and japanese can be recognized by speakers of the other language. The text still seems a bit scrambled and somewhat difficult to understand because of the differences in the two languages and their grammar. But the gist can be figured out.
