i think the way that cowpe looks at this is really interesting, because she looks at the whole eco system of of the relationship. A hopy has what she calls lie inviting behavior. If you have a partner who blows up or shames you and shuts down then that means they may be more likely in the future to avoid conflict. i do appreciate this sense that it's not just one person being a bad person, necessarily.
