The Relationship Between Subversion and Containment
I was squaring Conocruso Bryan around the campus during all of us, because he was giving a lecture. He had been invited by a friend of mine, who was the chair of my department in Tom Flanagan. I said with a certain kind of fatuous pride, well, Mr. Bryan, what do you think of this? And he said, "Oh, I think it's a pastoral ballet on a revolutionary theme" The relationship between subversion and containment seemed to me a gripping problem. It wasn't that I was so clearly and unequivocally on the side of ultimate revolution.
