Use a Big Number to Create an Emotional Response
When we think about what the purpose of numbers is, after a certain point they cease to have the purpose that we imagine they have. They start to serve this purpose, of which is a social purpose, and it's an ideological purpose,. And so when we come to numerical notations, the same argument holds true, presumably, with both numerals and verbal mumbering. What do we need both number words and number numbers?
