McCarthy's Fear of Science and Literature

There's a kind of refusal with all these writers to see science and literature as completely separate branches of human endeavor, isn't there? Yeah, I think that's right. Certainly with McCarthy, McCarthy's interest in science and physics has always been of interest to people who have read his books for a long time. And so by the end, you have this really interesting period in McCarthy's works towards the end of the border trilogy where the writing is really scraped back.
