Consciousness Is an Emergent Property of Brains
If your definition of free will is the ability to have made a different choice under identical circumstances than I don't accept that humans have free will. Consciousness, while not yet fully understood, is best explained as an emergent property of brains. The difference between human behavior and that of other animals is quantifiable in terms of more of this or less of that. There is mystery remaining, but that future explanations lie in the physical realm is of little doubt.
