The hero Franklin Hamilton is pretty much Jack Parsons. The other members of the Suicide Squad were turned into characters that were also based on their personalities. My favorite was a defrocked Franciscan monk named Theophile Belvedere. Conks Am Pax was actually a book that Alistair Crowley wrote as sort of a child's invitation to the occult.
