Monroe Burgdorff is still contemplating the transition she's most proud of. Finishing the book, she says, is a relief and a release. Now she doesn't have to tell anybody her story. She finally believes she knows who she is. What's more, she likes Monroe Burgdorff and is happy to hang out with her. I really feel this is my life now, she says. And I'm not going to allow it to be dictated to you by anybody else. That was, I never really thought I'd be alive at this point.
