Australia spends more than forty billion dollars per annum on defence. Defence analysis and cost of defence work has orbited around that, i'd say we're now back at a where there's much more serious attention to what does meeting australia's own security needs mean for the defense force. We've come, in some sense, as a full circle from ne deployed expeditionary operations that dominated defense thinking for much of the time we were in arac and afghanistan too. Are two threats which are likely to emerge a in our region, largely driven now by a more aggressive om people's republic of china.
