People who don't get quality sleep are far more likely to get sick after being exposed to a virus. The same amount of sleep for one person isn't going to be equal to the next person. What we really need is efficient sleep cycles where there are multiple stages of sleep. If sleep wasn't so important, as far as our human development and functionality, we would have evolved out of it long time ago.
