The Logos and the Incarnation
Advocates of a monophysite Christology or a one nature Christology held that after the incarnation the Logos possessed a single divine human nature. A kind of mixture of divinity and humanity together. So that the incarnation for the church fathers was not a matter of subtraction but of addition. It is not that the Logos subtracted some of his divine attributes in order to turn himself into a human being. But it was rather that theLogos being fully God acquired in addition to his divine nature a human nature as well.
