I Can't Explain the Birds

A noise i could only describe as a train going down the tracks began to sound above us as well. It was as if a huge metal door was opening, ready to swallow us whole. I can't describe why i felt i was being watched, but i knew the sound had something or some one there within it. We even spoke to the owners of the home, and they had never heard anything like it. Right on the doorsteps, lai a dead finch. And we both turned to look at the lawn, and there were more. This is something i cannot explain at all. It was very unpleasant and has stuck with me in the years since.
