The author has written a book called fossil future, why global human flourishing requires more oil, coal and natural gas. He argues that we've artificially restricted the supply of fossil fuels through political opposition to investment in renewable energy sources. An unreliable solar wind can go near zero at any given time,. And then when we do try to get rid of the fossil fuels or nuclear hydro, such as has happened in texas and california, we have blackouts. These things are nowhere near replacing fossil fuels, let alone heavy duty trans ation, such as flying or cargo ships.
