The Atrophied Community Hypothesis

I wonder if Europe by virtue of having older cities that are designed to be walkable with public spaces is more resistant to that atrophy and community effect as opposed to America. Once television becomes a mainstay in entertainment circa 1952 people just quit leaving their house then that it all of a sudden there's just this absolute plummet in seeking entertainment anywhere else. I don't know enough about Europe really to say but I would imagine that something like that you know whatever your your equivalent community center is it just wasn't based on religion and so maybe it's it's outlast it.
