I Wish I Was Unified, Right?

Gospel of Thomas says to attain unity with Jesus, you have to undo a lot of what makes you this kind of fleshly person. And one of those things is gender. Far from celebrating gender differences, it's all about eliding them and becoming like the perfect androgynous human being. But I don't know what it means in practice. It might be that asceticism leaves you to that kind of way of somehow like undoing the material existence so that if you fast, you become much less focused on this body.
