"I grew up in a world where I was not expecting most people around me to agree with me at all," she says. "We as Christians have to recognize the ways in which we postured ourselves in the culture." She believes that following Jesus throughout history and across the world, we shouldn't have the expectation that it would be the popular thing or make our lives easier.
