Ibrahim Triore of Burkina Faso is invoking the legacy of Thomas Sankara. He's been making it very clear that he wants West Africa, the African continent to be independent of Western neo-colonialism. The new government has been allying with revolutionary forces in Latin America. This explains why the Western powers are threatening military intervention in West Africa.
