Sartre rejects the notion of unconscious altogether. He does not reject the unconscious as something which can be understood from within the framework of consciousness. In Sartre's earlier works he describes consciousness as transference then later on it becomes translucent and being but even as early as being a nothingness it's it's translucent, says Hermann Rothkopf.
