The Importance of Faith in Science
Professor Briggs says science does have theistic assumptions built into it. Science proceeds on the supposition that nature is uniform and intelligible, he says. Faith is required for science, not necessarily faith in God, but at least of faith that there are answers to be found - Professor Briggs. We're so used to this that we forget how weird it is: Einstein once commented that this is the spookiest thing of all.
