The Importance of Questions of Fact in Disagreement

A lot of job applications ask, have you ever been to prison? Have you ever been in jail? And so they thought, well, we should ban that question. This will help the prison population, predominantly black men get back into jobs more easily. The change was actually negative for black job seekers after ban the box. They were less likely to get a job. It's important to get the actual question right, not just to advocate for something that feels good. Questions of fact are important here.
