KDKA - A Watershed Event

The KDKA election broadcast was a watershed event. Two weeks after that first transmission Westinghouse introduced the first radio for the general public, the Ariel Le Jr., which sold for $25. The broadcasting boom had begun and over the next few years radio would move out of the garage and into the living room. Today KDKA is considered the oldest radio station in the country.
