Caesar's Reforms Provided Employment for the Poorest Families

In his last consulships, which were the years 44 through 46 through 44 BC, Caesar founded new settlements for the veterans of his army. He also affected his course of land reform eventually that had been thwarted by Cicero back when Caesar didn't have an army that had taken over the Republic. Plutarch records that eventually Caesar's reforms provided that almost the whole of the Campania be divided among the poor and needy.
