The Cost of Political Behavior

In the cases where those two things don't coincide, right, where what I prefer and what I ought to prefer aren't the same, that you can get political behavior where people incur costs. If they prioritize the group norms sufficiently, sometimes they will vote against their own stated preferences in order to support the group. And if we remind them about the norms of their identity before that, they're even less likely to do it.
