The Importance of Social Security for Single Mothers

In the New Deal, in the introduction of Social Security, they wanted to accommodate basically single mothers. So you had this tiny program that was not tied to work where you got aid enough to live on if you were a single mother with dependent children. And so he points out that it metastasized. It's like all liberalism, right? Where's there's a limiting principle? Like, well, if this is good, then more of it must be better.
