The New Perspective on Paul
There's a turn after World War II to take the Jewish context of early Christianity more seriously. Sanders argued that Paul was not the fellow that Luther had led us to believe. James Don, NT Wright, a whole body of scholarship developed on this. And that movement's become known as the new perspective on Paul.
In this episode, Dr. Clark continues the Heidelcast series on Romans, beginning with a look at the "New Perspective on Paul" (NPP) and the question of Jews and Gentiles in the early church. Dr. Clark breaks down how the NPP affects Reformed theology and how to consider it critically, with critiques from Michael Horton and Charles E. Hill.
