Sebastian thrun was born in what at that point was west germany. By 19 95, he had become part of the computer science department at carnegie melon university. In two thousand three, he would leave c m u ally and join the teaching staff at stanford university. He also became the head of the artificial intelligence laboratory there. Darpa is the united states defense advance research projects agency.
