Many of the main media outlets that peddle this notion of inclusive patriotism, as we've been discussing, are publicly funded and ably independent. We want to sort of start off by talking about the origins of educational ad historical broadcasting as we know them to day. The genesis of public educational broadcasting in the united states arguably dates back to the 19 tens. And so to talk about the history of this americana project in liberal discourse and in liberal cultural production, we want to look at how it began.
