The subtitle of your book is Christian Humanism in a Time of Crisis. So we should probably just get definition straight. What is Christian humanism? Right. Not all of them would have used that term. Lewis in particular didn't like it. That was because for him the humanists were primarily a group of scholars in the 16th century, whose effect on English culture and English learning he did not admire.
