The History of Beer
Ancient beer was usually nothing more than mashed up grain in water. The yeast would have come from naturally occurring yeast in the air. People consumed an incredible amount of alcohol, even though much of it had a very low alcohol content. Fermentation evidence was found in ancient China 9,000 years ago when grains like millet and wheat were still more important crops.
