The Pentagon Papers: A History of the Vietnam War
The Pentagon Papers was published in 1971 by the New York Times and Washington Post. The government asked for an injunction to stop publication on the grounds that this would harm national security. It went very quickly to the Supreme Court, where it ended up being made public.
