The History of the Torpedo Gun
An old method of doing it which was really cool to stop rust. They would just put a cannonball inside the barrel and then slosh a load of olive oil inside. The idea is that this was to stop ships from being attacked by planes. But they didn't count on there's a lot of wind out there, so mines could be blown right back to the boat that launched them. Some of the earliest torpedoes were ride-dable torpedoes. You 10 nautical miles. How do you survive the landing? Well you're in the water the whole way. It's a torpedo.
