Macbeth's Dagger Speech

In act two of Macbeth we get the famous dagger speech from mcbeth. How curious that there is a syntactical metaphor going on here he talks about mocking the time well the time is mocking him and we are very aware of the time because it takes him longer to say such a mono syllabic line. george birkley would teach us a century after Shakespeare that our sense perception is inherently unreliable. We learn about the world primarily through our eyes, this becomes evident when we consider how we might describe a person or a room.
