The Importance of Ethics in Enlightenment
An ethical code that evolved from this understanding would be a code of behavior based on a single principle. We share our being with all people, with all animals, and with all things. That single principle is really the only moral code one needs. St. Augustine said it. I can't improve on St. Augustine. He was asked the same question, what are the moral implications of this understanding? He said, love and do whatever you want. As long as you act in a way that is consistent and an expression of that understanding. That will keep you safe.
