The Cost of Using Async IO Tasks
Will McEugen is one of the creators of Textual, which is a text based application framework that uses CSS to do 2E widget layout. All the available widgets in Textual are built on async. So this allows them to operate and animate independent of each other. Will was trying to do some optimization on one of his programs that had like thousands of widgets and wonder how much of the overhead was actually coming fromync IO.
