The Nithanyal Coalition's Plan to Appoint Justices
In the process of all these demonstrations and the pushback, the Nithanyal coalition watered things down. They said they would first push only one element which is to pass a law that would allow them to appoint two justices. But in fact it passed everything in the committee even while Netanyahu was negotiating with the extreme right to halt this legislation. So at the moment it's paused but it's paused in a threshold state as we would say about a nuclear state. At any given day the Knesset could simply bring to vote for second and third hearing in one day this bill could pass. And Netanyahu has given no assurances no promises no guarantees that it wouldn't happen.
