The doll was nowhere near the door. I peered inside the store, getting my newtly closer to the glass over several long minutes. Terrified that it would jump out at me like some kind of horror movie monster. Finally, I spotted it. Its hands on its face just like when I'd come in that morning. As though it had never moved. And why would it? It was just a doll after all.
