The Importance of Friendship in the Modern World
Anselm's letters are a unique way to learn about someone as distinct from like theological treatises. What surprised me most out of anything that I learned from Anselm was how high of you of friendship he has. In the modern world, romantic or sexual love is considered the highest expression of love. To the ancients, friendship seemed the happiest and most fully human of all the loves.
