The Importance of Humor in Satirical Work
I think I returned to WH Auden's definition of satire, a distinction between satire and comedy where he talks about satire being angry and optimistic. It rails against these things, but it fundamentally believes that it can change and we can change for the good. Whereas comedy he describes as good natured and pessimistic in Sephora's, it's resigned to how terrible things are and so just laughs at them. So what's time, although I'm often accused of bullying because I'm mocking identity politics, the misinterpretation there, is I'm never mocking marginalized groups or vulnerable groups.
