The Risk Management Role of the Clearing House

Clearing members have long been the intermediary between a very large population of clients and the clearing house itself. There are many different ways to approach this, however, one would really need to recognize and appreciate the actual risk management role that clearing member provides. A single clearing house wouldn't necessarily know all the other activities of individual clients at different exchanges across the world.
