The Comstock Act of 1873

The comstock act was signed in the law in march of 18 73. It outlawed using the united states postal service to send any obscene, led or lascivious materials. This also included advertisements, notices and other publications. Violating this law was punishable with a fine of not less than 100 dollars, or more than 500 dollars,. Or hard labor of not less that one year, or morethan ten years, or both.
