Liver is made of homogenous protoplasm organized water at the periphery it's always dying and reforming that's just normal so it makes these little compartments which we call cells and they slough up and get absorbed by the body. If you go and poison the liver could be a lot of different poisons what it will do is make more of these cells because it's dying but they're not growing and dividing they're just being sloughed off as part of the liver has been poisoned.
