They had this hope because even in the midst of the chaos, they understood god has a long history. And so when you stand at the brink of being thrown into a fiery furnace, what did they have to stand on? The fact that they had heard the stories of a god who poor grammar had never not come through. They knew he's not going to start to day, so we have hope. So even if the situation doesn't change to morrow, i'm waing to show up again, and i'm going to be hopeful again, because nothing is too hard for my god.
