The Importance of Institutionalization in Science
Once people kind of know so much within some field, they feel like that's the whole field. And it's very hard to see beyond that because you're just saying, there's another fact. I know this from this area, et cetera, et cetersa, etcetera,. Within this field. So it becomes sort of a claustrophobic experience of fact, so to speak. It has huge inertia and huge resistance to change.
