Almost all the chestnut in America are dead. Chestnut blight is a non native fungus. It's native to Asia thing was really curious. We haven't found any that have been able to reproduce on their own. There are attempts back breeding chestnut with Chinese chestnut out there, which kind of works and doesn't. But I read an interesting article at like the sort of hunt for like survivor trees. You can find your chestnut that you're either resistant or haven't been attacked for some reason. What do you care about reproduction underneath those adults?
