Makeup on the Train

I love watching people do their makeup on the train because I like to see what kind of tricks they've developed on their own for their own face. One of my favourite makeup scenes in the film of all time is in, you know, Ina Bouda Soof and Jean Seaburg is putting her eyeliner on - it's a bit shit. And she puts on this slightly wonky eyeliner and such. It's only kind of shocking and subversive when you see it because you realise you don't see it. You want certain characters to look a bit rough because they've done it themselves. Absolutely. But I think it's against everything that the makeup artist has been taught
