In 1993 everybody loves Mario. All articles say he's kids know him as well as they do Mickey Mouse. That was a great part of Nintendo systems until like 2001 when it became tradition to instead release the Mario games six to twenty four months after the console came out. I think too that some of that might just be a reaction to a corporation capitalizing on people's like feelings can feel cringy.
