I Don't Do Politics, but I Would Still Own My Property

I think that classical liberals have to be people who are committed to the value of the open access order. If you say, oh, i just don't do politics, you're actually contributing to the damage being done to what your classical liberal would view as the long term good. And if you're going to keep collapsing into napoleonic dictatorship, strong man offers the middle class this bargain. That is exactly the deal that property oriented bourgeois liberals, libertarians have spent 200 years being tempted by. There's a reason why we unlike the ancient greeks, we want our liberty to be the liberty of the private sphere.
